Polyphonic is an indie magazine that centres on Black musicians in rock music, showcasing their often-overlooked contributions to the genre.

Four articles were carefully selected for their focus on the impact of Black musicians in rock music, and these texts directly informed the typography and layout of the magazine spreads.

It utilizes a mix of bold, condensed, and retro fonts to create a vibrant aesthetic. Solid colours effectively differentiate the articles, while the layout draws inspiration from Willy Fleckhaus’ Twen Magazine, embracing grid systems and generous white space to enhance readability and allow the powerful stories of these musicians to shine.
